Hawks, buzzards,
falcons, vultures, eagles and even kookaburras can
all be trained using traditional falconry techniques
and many of our birds have been raised by our professional
falconers to such an expert degree that they really
enjoy their interactions with humans. This becomes
apparent as they fly to your glove and we make sure
that every species flown is different. We will also
let you know a little about the natural lives of each
bird as it flies to you. On completion of the morning
session we will take you to the on-site restaurant
where a choice
of
meals awaits.
The afternoon session of our "Falconry
Experience" builds on the morning session by
showing the traditional application of falconry dating
back many thousands of years. Then falconry was about
hunting quarry although people who took part were
unlikely to rely on it for the regular provision
of food. We take you out into the Cheshire Countryside
to experience nature at its most highly evolved.
Escorted by a hawk that is able to fly free from
your glove you will witness it hunting for itself
in the afternoon session of the "Falconry Experience".
You take on the role of the falconer as it is called
back to your glove to reinforce the bond between
bird and man.
This is a wonderfully exciting
gift that appeals to everybody from people who have
no experience of birds of prey to birdwatchers and
lovers of the Great Outdoors.
